ERROR: Expired activation key

Discussion in 'MuJoCo Pro Bug Reports' started by liuyuezhangadam, Mar 25, 2018.

  1. Dear Sir,

I'm a student from China. Yesterday I just got my register key. I tried to activate my mujoco but failed.

I run './stimulate' in the directory '~/.mujoco/mjpro15/bin', and it ruturned

    MuJoCo Pro library version 1.50
    ERROR: Expired activation key
    Press Enter to exit ...

I put my license under the directory '~/.mujoco/mjpro15/bin' and I promise I've never registered the key on other OS before.

My OS is Ubuntu 16.04 and I'll provide any information you need.

    Please help me.

  2. Thanks for your email. I switch to forum here to allow others to see it.

As you mentioned, there is a date problem in my OS. After several amendment, now I think all the files with incorrect date are modified. I tap

    find / -mtime --0.01

    now and return like this:

    root@xxx:/home/xxx# find / -mtime --0.01
    find: ‘/run/user/1000/gvfs’: Permission denied
find: ‘/proc/8510/task/8510/fd/6’: No such file or directory
find: ‘/proc/8510/task/8510/fdinfo/6’: No such file or directory
find: ‘/proc/8510/fd/5’: No such file or directory
find: ‘/proc/8510/fdinfo/5’: No such file or directory

and my system date is here:

    xxx@xxx:~$ date
    2018年 03月 26日 星期一 11:11:07 CST
    xxx:~$ sudo /sbin/hwclock
    2018年03月26日 星期一 11时11分12秒 .670349 seconds

I think no other files need to modify the date now.

    But ./simulate still returns:

    MuJoCo Pro library version 1.50
    ERROR: Expired activation key
    Press Enter to exit ...

I feel the problem very interesting and hope for your help!

  3. Done.
You should change both -ntime and -ctime.

    Like this:

    sudo find / -ntime --0.01 | xargs touch x
    sudo find / -ctime --0.01 | xargs touch x

be careful for the file with ' ' (space) in its directory.

    Hello,
I have used the 30-day license and now, when it is expired. Another student key has been register for working further with Mujoco. However, when I place the new key to the bin folder, the simulation keeps showing expiration error like this post. I could not fix it with the ntime (should be mtime) and ctime command above. Here are some further information. Please help me with some further instruction on fixing it. Thank you very much.

Are you sure you deleted the old key and copied the new one? Can you open the text file mjkey.txt and see what expiration date is shown in the file? Also, could it be that you have an old key somewhere else on your system and the executable is loading that key? Note that MuJoCo programs are free to load keys from any directory. The code samples assume the key is in the bin directory, but one can write a program that loads it from another directory.

    Thank you for your support.
For the key content, I am sure that it is the new key. I also search in compute scope to find all the file mjkey.txt and only 1 file was kept (the new license file).

    Expires April 23, 2019.

This file activates MuJoCo Pro on a single computer with id:

The problem is not solved yet. If anyone knows how to solve it, please share with me and community. Thank you very much.

The only explanation I can think of is that there is a file somewhere on your system with a future date. If you cannot find it and would like to try a different machine, send me an email and I will increase your activation limit so you can register a new machine.

Thank you but I need to install it on this PC to run with the highest configuration I have for tensorflow as well. Do you know how to find the files with future ctime and mtime and modify them since I tried 2 days long and no solutions from the Internet help me out of this? Thank you.
